Privacy policy
What's collected when you visit, and why.
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit searchwary.com, and why. The short version: we don't have accounts, forms or newsletters, and we don't sell personal information.
Information we collect
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes standard technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. This is used to deliver and secure the site and to diagnose errors.
Email. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to fix any issue you report.
We don't use advertising cookies, we don't run ad networks on the site, and we don't build profiles of visitors. A small amount of information may be saved in your browser's local storage to remember interface choices, such as dismissing the offer bar. It never leaves your device.
Third parties your browser contacts
- Google Fonts. Our typefaces are loaded from Google's font servers, which receive standard request data such as your IP address.
- Brand image servers. Product photos are loaded from each brand's own website or CDN, which receives standard request data when the image loads.
- Affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link, you leave Search Wary. The affiliate network and the brand may set cookies or use similar technology to record that the visit came from us, so that a commission can be attributed if you buy. Their own privacy policies apply.
If we add analytics or advertising conversion tags in the future, we'll update this policy first and describe what they collect.
Your choices and rights
You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and doing so won't stop Search Wary working. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have rights to access or delete personal information. We hold almost none, but if you've emailed us you can ask us to delete that correspondence by writing to hello@searchwary.com.
Children
Search Wary is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
