The short answer

Ollie is a well-run fresh dog food subscription with free shipping, an online cancel button and a refundable starter box. The catch is cost: after the discounted first box, plans renew automatically at regular prices, which Ollie says average $8 a day. Try it if the budget works long-term, not just for the intro deal.

Good for

  • Owners who want pre-portioned fresh food delivered on a schedule
  • Small-dog households, where Ollie says plans start under $4 a day
  • Budget-conscious owners who'd use the Half Fresh plan as a topper

Skip it if

What Ollie is

Ollie sells fresh, gently cooked dog food by subscription. You answer a short quiz about your dog, and Ollie ships frozen, pre-portioned packs to your door on a recurring schedule. The company, Ollie Pets Inc., was founded in New York in 2016, according to Gama Consumer's report on its sale. In early 2026, Agrolimen, a Spanish food and pet care group, announced it was acquiring Ollie. The same report says Ollie will keep operating as an independent brand with its existing leadership and US headquarters.

Ollie sells five fresh recipes (beef, chicken, turkey, lamb and pork), baked recipes, mixed plans and jerky treats. Its app also offers photo-based "Health Check-ins" for things like digestion, teeth, weight and coat. Ollie ships only to the contiguous United States. Its old address, myollie.com, now redirects to ollie.com.

What makes it different

Portioned plans, full or half

Ollie builds a calorie target from your dog's age, weight, spay or neuter status and activity level, then portions the packs to match. There are two main plans. Full Fresh covers all of your dog's daily calories and starts at $1.57 a meal, per Ollie. Half Fresh covers half and starts at $1.00 a meal, which makes it a topper you mix with your current food. Ollie says its recipes are formulated with veterinary nutritionists and meet AAFCO guidelines for all life stages. Those are the brand's statements; we don't assess nutrition or health outcomes.

A subscription with real controls

Ollie is subscription-only. Its FAQ says plainly that you can't order without subscribing. The controls are decent: from your account you can change the delivery date, change how often boxes come, swap recipes, or skip a box, and skip and reschedule up to six weeks at a time. Your card is charged three days before each box ships, and once it's charged, that order can't be changed. Changes need to be in before your cutoff, about four to five days before shipping.

Cancelling takes planning

This is where Ollie's pages don't quite agree, so here's everything they say. The FAQ says to cancel by calling +1 650-405-3420, or, after hours, on the website: open My Info, click Subscriptions, and click Cancel Subscription for each dog after a short survey. You can't cancel in the Ollie app. The terms add that you can cancel by email at caninecare@ollie.com, and that you must cancel at least six days before your next scheduled delivery to avoid paying for it. Fees charged before the cancellation takes effect aren't refunded or prorated.

A refundable first box, then no returns

Ollie's "Obsession Guarantee" refunds your starter box if your dog isn't happy with it, and the homepage calls it a 30-day money-back guarantee. That's the only refund route. The terms state that Ollie does not accept returns, and later boxes aren't refunded unless Ollie shipped them in error.

The product range

Everything is sold inside a plan, so Ollie doesn't publish per-item prices. Here's what you can choose from:

Current offers

Ollie discounts the first box only. Its terms describe a Halloween promotion of 70% off the first box, plus free jerky and a puzzle toy, running October 22 through November 3, 2026, for new subscribers in the contiguous US.

Whatever the percentage, the first box is the same: about two weeks of food, a feeding guide for switching from your current food over roughly ten days, and a welcome kit with a scoop and a storage container Ollie calls a Puptainer. Because the switch is gradual, Ollie's FAQ warns you may have food left over between the first and second boxes. If so, push the second delivery back from your account rather than letting packs pile up in the freezer.

  • 70% OFF

New subscribers in the contiguous US only; prior subscribers and households with an active subscriber don't qualify. The discount applies to the first box only, and the plan then auto-renews at standard prices. Not combinable with other offers; toy and jerky while supplies last. Some versions of Ollie's site still show 50% off; the 70% terms are posted on Ollie's terms page.

Price and value

Ollie doesn't post a price list. It publishes starting points and an average, and the rest depends on your dog. These are Ollie's own figures, plus our weekly and monthly arithmetic:

Published figurePer dayPer weekPer 30 days
Small dog fed only Ollie ("less than four dollars per day")under $4under $28under $120
Ollie's stated average ("averages $8 per day")$8$56$240
Half Fresh planfrom $1.00 a mealdepends on your dogdepends on your dog
Full Fresh planfrom $1.57 a mealdepends on your dogdepends on your dog

The FAQ's small-dog figure is the closest thing Ollie publishes to a sample dog: under $4 a day for a small dog fed only Ollie, so under $28 a week. It doesn't name a weight, so treat it as a floor.

The first box versus everything after it. The starter box holds about two weeks of food. At Ollie's $8-a-day average, two weeks would be about $112 before any discount. With 70% off, that's roughly $34; with the site's default 50% off, roughly $56. These are our estimates from Ollie's average, not quotes. The discount covers the first box only. Ollie's terms say discounted subscriptions renew at the regular price in effect when you signed up, and the plan keeps renewing until you cancel. At the average, the ongoing cost is about $240 a month, or close to $2,900 a year. A small dog on a full plan would cost under half that.

Two ways to cut the bill: price the Half Fresh plan as a topper, or adjust portions with Ollie's help. Ollie's terms also say it doesn't offer price protection if prices drop or a new promotion launches after you subscribe, and it can raise prices with advance notice.

Shipping, returns and warranty

The point most reviews of subscription dog food skip: the money-back guarantee covers only the starter box. Every box after that is final, and timing matters. Ollie charges three days before shipping, and the terms want cancellations six days before delivery, so give yourself a full week of margin. Shipping is free, but only to the contiguous US. The food arrives frozen, needs freezer space, and each pack thaws in the fridge for at least 24 hours before serving.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Free shipping on every box to the contiguous US
  • Cancel online on the website, with no call required, plus a phone line if you prefer
  • Skip or reschedule deliveries up to six weeks at a time
  • A refundable starter box under the 'Obsession Guarantee'
  • Half Fresh plan as a cheaper, partial option (from $1.00 a meal)
  • Multiple support channels: email, phone, text and live chat

Cons

  • Subscription-only; you can't buy a single box
  • Exact pricing appears only after a quiz; Ollie's own average is $8 a day (about $240 a month)
  • Discounted first boxes renew automatically at the regular price
  • No returns after the starter box, and no refunds for fees charged before you cancel
  • Cancellation instructions differ across pages (email in the terms, phone or website in the FAQ, not in the app)
  • Needs freezer and fridge space, and packs must thaw for at least 24 hours

Who it's for (and who should skip it)

Good fit: the small-dog household

If Ollie's "under $4 a day" figure holds for your dog, a full fresh plan costs under $28 a week with free delivery. That's the budget where the convenience of pre-portioned packs is easiest to justify.

Good fit: the topper buyer

If you want some fresh food in the bowl without paying for every calorie, the Half Fresh plan starts at $1.00 a meal and keeps the same delivery and skip controls.

Skip it if...

You want to buy a single box with no subscription, you live in Alaska or Hawaii, or you can't commit to managing delivery dates. Skip it, too, if the regular price would strain your budget after the first box. Ollie says prices vary with your dog's size, so a large dog on a full plan can land above the $8-a-day average. And if your dog has a medical condition, talk to your veterinarian before switching foods.

FAQ

Is Ollie legit?

Yes. Ollie Pets Inc. is a New York-based fresh dog food company founded in 2016, according to trade press, and it sells by subscription through ollie.com. Agrolimen, a Spanish food and pet care group, agreed to acquire Ollie in early 2026, and reports said it would keep operating as an independent brand. The old myollie.com address now redirects to ollie.com.

How much does Ollie cost per day?

Ollie's FAQ says plans start at less than $4 a day for small dogs fed only Ollie and average $8 a day. Its meal-plans page lists Full Fresh from $1.57 a meal and Half Fresh from $1.00 a meal. At the $8 average, that's about $56 a week or $240 a month. Your exact price comes from the quiz.

Does Ollie have a free trial?

No free trial, but there's a discounted first box. Ollie's terms describe 70% off the first box, plus free jerky and a puzzle toy, for new subscribers from October 22 to November 3, 2026. The starter box holds about two weeks of food and is covered by a money-back guarantee. After it, the plan renews at the regular price.

How do I cancel Ollie?

Ollie's FAQ says to call +1 650-405-3420, or, after hours, cancel on the website: open My Info, click Subscriptions, then Cancel Subscription for each dog. You can't cancel in the Ollie app. The terms also allow cancelling by email at caninecare@ollie.com. Cancel at least 6 days before your next scheduled delivery to avoid paying for it.

Can I pause or skip Ollie deliveries?

Yes. From your account you can change the delivery date, change how often boxes come, or skip a box, and the FAQ says you can skip and reschedule up to six weeks at a time. Make changes before your cutoff, about four to five days before the box ships. Your card is charged three days before shipping, and charged orders can't be edited.

Does Ollie auto-renew?

Yes. Ollie is subscription-only, and the terms say it automatically renews and charges your card on each renewal date until you cancel or turn off auto-renew. Discounted first boxes renew at the regular price in effect when you subscribed. Ollie can change prices with advance notice, and if you don't cancel, the plan renews at the new price.

What is Ollie's refund policy?

Ollie doesn't accept returns. Its money-back guarantee applies only to the starter box, which Ollie says it will refund if your dog isn't happy with it; the homepage calls it a 30-day guarantee. Later boxes aren't refunded unless Ollie shipped them in error, and fees charged before a cancellation takes effect aren't prorated or refunded.

Is Ollie healthy for my dog?

Ollie says its recipes are formulated with veterinary nutritionists and meet AAFCO guidelines for all life stages. We don't evaluate health outcomes, and Ollie's own marketing claims aren't independently verified here. Your dog's needs depend on age, weight and any medical conditions, so talk to your veterinarian before changing their diet.

Final verdict

Ollie is a straightforward subscription with good controls: free shipping, skip and reschedule up to six weeks at a time, an online cancel button on the website, and a refundable starter box. The 70% first-box offer, which runs through November 3, 2026, makes trying it cheap. What deserves your attention is the regular price. Ollie says it averages $8 a day, plans renew automatically at that regular price, and boxes after the first can't be returned. Get your quote, multiply it by 30, and decide based on that number, not the intro price. If you try it, cancel on the website at least six days before a delivery you don't want.
