What Ruggable is
Ruggable makes machine-washable rugs. According to its About page, founder Jeneva Bell came up with the idea of a rug you could put in a washing machine, and the original product was a patented two-piece design: a washable rug cover that sits on a separate nonslip pad. Ruggable LLC lists a mailing address in Gardena, California, in its warranty terms, and its shipping page says most products are made to order in the US.
The range now goes well beyond the original flatwoven covers. Ruggable sells two-piece systems (flatwoven, Re-Jute and outdoor), single-piece "All-in-One" rugs (tufted, plush and performance weave), wool rugs, doormats, bath mats, pet beds, pillows and kids' play mats, plus designer collaborations. It sells through ruggable.com, with separate storefronts for Canada, the UK, the EU, Germany and Australia. Its return policy also refers to third-party retailers, which handle their own returns.
What makes it different
The rug goes in the washer
This is the reason anyone buys a Ruggable. The brand says all of its rug types are machine washable except wool rugs and play mats, and its care steps are short: wash cold with mild detergent, then tumble dry low or air dry. For a household with a shedding dog or a toddler with a juice cup, that's a real change from spot cleaning a wool rug or paying a cleaner.
Two-piece or all-in-one
The two-piece system means the part that gets dirty (the cover) comes off the pad and goes in the wash alone. It also means you can buy a new cover and keep the pad, which is how Ruggable sells style changes. The newer All-in-One rugs have the nonslip backing built in, so there's no pad to manage. They're softer, but you wash the whole rug every time.
The catch: washer size
Ruggable is upfront about this in its own washing machine guide, and it's the fact most reviews skip. An 8x10 needs a 4.5 cu ft washer, and the brand's chart shows 9x12 and 10x14 rugs don't fit any of the washer sizes it lists. A typical 3.1 cu ft machine handles up to a 5x7.
Made to order, with shipping protection included
Ruggable says most of its products are made to order in the US, so standard delivery is quoted at one to two weeks rather than a few days. In return, every order includes shipping protection: if a package is lost or arrives damaged, Ruggable says it will arrange a replacement, refund or free return, provided you contact Customer Care within 7 days of delivery. Because rugs are made to order, the cancellation window is short. You can cancel instantly within one hour of ordering. After that, you have to ask Customer Care whether the order can still be stopped before it ships.

All Ruggable deals and policies on one page
The choice is usually simple. If you're buying two or more rugs, BUY2GET15 beats the 10% welcome code. If you're buying one rug as a new customer, use the welcome code. Ruggable's FAQ says e-gift cards can be combined with a promo code, so a gift card plus BUY2GET15 is allowed. The offers page also says Black Friday and Cyber Monday details are coming but weren't live on Oct 27. If you buy now and a sale starts within seven days, the price adjustment policy is your safety net.
The Wary Check
Ruggable passes all six checks. The return check passes with an asterisk, because the 30-day window comes with a processing fee of up to $40.

Price and value
The headline price only tells you part of the story with Ruggable. What matters over the life of a two-piece rug is what a replacement cover costs, because that's what you'll buy when the first one wears out or you want a change. Here's the full ladder for one flatwoven style, the Solana Rust & Sage, with the return fee for each size:
| Size | Rug + Pad System | Rug + Cushioned Pad | Cover only | Return fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2'x3' | $89 | $119 | $69 | $10 |
| 3'x5' | $139 | $169 | $109 | $25 |
| 5'x7' | $239 | $299 | $169 | $25 |
| 6'x9' | $369 | $469 | $249 | $25 |
| 8'x10' | $579 | $679 | $409 | $40 |
| 9'x12' | $729 | $909 | $509 | $40 |
| 10'x14' | $959 | $1,259 | $669 | $40 |
Two things stand out. First, a replacement cover runs roughly 67–78% of the price of a complete system across these sizes. At 3x5 it's $109 against $139, and at 8x10 it's $409 against $579. A cover is cheaper than a new rug, but not dramatically so.
Second, the pad is cheapest inside a system. Bought alone, the Standard Rug Pad is $39 at 2x3, $109 at 5x7, $189 at 6x9 and $249 at 8x10. Inside an 8x10 system, the pad effectively costs $170 more than the cover. If you think you'll want two rooms' worth of pads one day, buy systems rather than covers plus loose pads.
Other lines cost more. The tufted All-in-One Calabria runs from $119 at 2x3 to $749 at 8x10 and $1,399 at 10x14, the Arlo plush starts at $439 for a 5x7 and reaches $1,099 for a 9x12, and the Easy Care Wool Lucien runs $799 to $1,699. Wool isn't machine washable, so the washability premium doesn't apply there.
There's no subscription. The cost over time is a cover every few years, if you want one, plus the occasional $19 bottle of Ruggable's spot cleaner if you use it.
Shipping, returns and warranty
Shipping is free to the contiguous US with no minimum, though Ruggable's FAQ notes that handling fees are calculated separately at checkout, and express shipping fees aren't refunded if you return. The return fee is the detail to plan around. You get a prepaid label, but $10, $25 or $40 comes out of the refund depending on size, and two-piece rugs have to go back with both cover and pad. The upside is that minor pet hair and signs of washing are accepted on returns, so you can genuinely try a rug in a real house. The warranty is one year and excludes damage caused by pets, which is worth knowing given who buys these rugs.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Most rug types are machine washable, which Ruggable says includes tufted, flatwoven, plush, re-jute and performance weave
- Free standard shipping to the contiguous US with no minimum
- A published 15% code (BUY2GET15) for buying two or more rugs
- Two-piece rugs let you replace or swap just the cover, from $69
- 30-day returns accept minor pet hair and signs of washing
- Every order includes shipping protection for lost or damaged packages
Cons
- Return processing fees of $10, $25 or $40 come out of your refund
- Ruggable's chart says 8x10 rugs need a 4.5 cu ft washer and 9x12 or 10x14 don't fit any listed washer
- Replacement covers are expensive at large sizes: $409 for a flatwoven 8x10
- Warranty is one year and excludes damage caused by pets
- Wool rugs and play mats are not machine washable
- Made-to-order shipping takes about 1–2 weeks, and there's no phone support
Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Good fit: the pet or toddler household
If your rug gets a weekly accident, Ruggable's whole design is for you. A 5x7 or smaller fits a standard 3.1 cu ft washer, per the brand, and returns accept pet hair and signs of washing.
Good fit: kitchens, entries and runners
Small sizes are where Ruggable makes the most sense on price. A 2.5x7 flatwoven runner system is $159 for the Solana style, and the return fee at that size is $10.
Good fit: the frequent restyler
If you like changing a room with the seasons, a two-piece rug lets you keep the pad and buy only covers. At 5x7, a new Solana cover is $169 against $239 for the full system. Just keep the pad matched to the product, because Ruggable's warranty excludes damage from using an incompatible pad.
Skip it if...
You want a 9x12 or 10x14 that you can wash at home, since Ruggable's own chart says they won't fit. Also skip it if you're buying purely on price. The brand charges a premium for the washable system. If you never wash rugs anyway, a conventional rug will cost less.
Alternatives
If you mainly want a washable rug and don't care about the cover-and-pad system, these are worth a look.

FAQ
Is Ruggable worth it?
For runners and rugs up to 5x7, often yes. They fit a 3.1 cu ft washer per Ruggable's own chart, and washing a rug instead of replacing it is the whole appeal. At 8x10 you need a 4.5 cu ft machine, a replacement flatwoven cover is $409, and a return costs $40. Price those in before buying big.
Is Ruggable legit?
Yes. Ruggable LLC lists a mailing address in Gardena, California, publishes its return, warranty, shipping and price adjustment policies on ruggable.com, and was founded by Jeneva Bell, according to its About page. Buy on ruggable.com if you want its 30-day returns and warranty, because purchases from third-party sellers must be returned through that seller.
Does Ruggable have a discount code?
Yes. On Oct 27, 2026, Ruggable's offers page published code BUY2GET15 for 15% off each item when you buy two or more rugs; doormats, bath mats, pillows, pet beds and some other items are excluded. New customers can also get 10% off a first order by signing up for email or texts. The code arrives by message and expires after 21 days.
What is Ruggable's return policy?
You can return eligible items within 30 days of delivery under the Life Happens Guarantee. Ruggable emails a prepaid FedEx label, but deducts a processing fee from your refund: $10 for small items, $25 for medium rugs and $40 for 8x10 and larger. Two-piece rugs must come back with both the cover and the pad. Refunds are processed within 14 business days.
Can I buy just a Ruggable cover?
Yes. Two-piece styles sell the washable cover on its own, and the pads are also sold separately. For the Solana flatwoven style, covers run from $69 at 2x3 to $669 at 10x14. A cover alone is cheaper than a new system, but at 8x10 it is still $409, so a style change isn't a small expense.
Will a Ruggable fit in my washing machine?
Ruggable's washer guide says runners and rugs up to 4x6 fit a 2.4 cu ft machine, 5x7 needs 3.1 cu ft, and 6x9, 8x10 and the rounds need 4.5 cu ft. Its chart marks 9x12 and 10x14 as not fitting any of those sizes. For top loaders without an agitator, the brand says you can subtract 0.4 cu ft.
Does Ruggable offer free shipping?
Yes, standard FedEx shipping is free to the contiguous US with no minimum and no code. Alaska, Hawaii and express shipping cost extra, and Ruggable doesn't ship to P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses or US territories. Its FAQ also says handling fees are calculated separately at checkout. Most items are made to order, so allow about 1–2 weeks.
Does Ruggable have a warranty?
Ruggable offers a one-year limited warranty from delivery against material or manufacturing defects on items bought from ruggable.com. To claim, email support@ruggable.com with proof of purchase and a photo. The warranty excludes damage caused by pets, stains, burns, fringe, use on stairs and damage from using the wrong pad.
Are all Ruggable rugs washable?
No. Ruggable says all of its rug types are machine washable except wool rugs and play mats. That matters if you're drawn to the Easy Care Wool line, which starts at $799 for a 5x7 and needs spot cleaning instead. Doormats and bath mats are included in the washer guide.
Final verdict
Ruggable delivers on its main promise. Most of its rugs go in a washing machine, and the company publishes clear policies on returns, shipping, warranty and price adjustments. It's a good buy in small and medium sizes, especially for homes with pets or kids, and code BUY2GET15 makes a two-rug order 15% cheaper. Large sizes are a different calculation. An 8x10 needs a 4.5 cu ft washer, a replacement flatwoven cover alone is $409, and a return costs $40. The 9x12 and 10x14 sizes don't fit any washer on Ruggable's own chart. Our honest take is that it's worth it up to 5x7 or 6x9, and you should think twice above that.
